a fairground life
Thursday morning and the new pump arrived for the skydiver. We did intend to fit it before going over to EK to open, but the weather was horrendous. Around noon it did dry up and for the next few days it was fine hot weather. So we fitted that item on Friday morning. Saturday it was "w" and I on the DZ as "r" and mrs showman headed off to the mall to open the miami ride at the Tiesto event. It was packed with people but the rides fell away at 11pm as the tent next to us closed and the punters all moved into the arena. Figuratively and literally speaking, we were out in the cold.
They finished at 4am, R got home at 6am so "w" and I did sunday at EK too, and they got the day off. Monday night I moved the miami off site to a nearby showman's yard. Today was the last day at EK and although we closed before 6pm (just as the rain started) it will be late before I get finished. I'm at the house writing this as half the DZ is pulled down, but since I can't get the full ride down until the miami is away,until the waltzer is away and until the dodgem is away, it will be a few hours yet. So my plan is to return there about 9pm and hopefully all the others will be gone. Then we will get the DZ down.

Nice picture showman you'll have to talk to borderer about getting a funhouse fitted on it. Gc is a dab hand and hasn't fatso got one he could help also. Hate this phone stuff but hope all the regs are ok and making a bob.

Hi showman / all regs. long time no inpute. I eventually got round to getting myself a google account. Good to hear about Borderers good fortune, my only advice would be keep it handy as off the top of my head I can't think of anything that will eat your money any quicker than a second hand 6 x 2 Renualt rigid ( to be fair closely followed by any other kind of lorry) LOL

good to hear from you SS, How has ur season been this year hope the coins were decent, thanks for the piece of advice the lorry is a good investment and will save us thousands in haulage every year, mainly be used for taking livestock to mart and shifting things and doing the bale run in summer.autumn . you may not be aware like all other regs ss but the lorry is the last thing on my mind for chewing my cash up miss borderer is sometimes the main culprit for buying lavish goods and wasting my hard earned cash i dont get chance to see it lol. where are u at the moment showman ? was on niall's site last night looking at pics of dumfries back end fair and walter murphy extreme capriolio was up from england looks some piece of kit. hope all regs well cheers borderer
just returned from a once in a blue moon day out with miss borderer some retail therapy for her of course zilch for me, went to fill up the car and bought a paper the news of the world and i see theres a pic of the DZ front page news good publicity showman , miss b was like is that now showmans ride and i was lyk wahay front page spread for the dz good one lol. hope all well cheers.

Just returned from a holiday weekend in sunny Stranraer (only rained Saturday night/Sunday morning). Been there since Thursday, don't think I've drunk so much in my life lol
Seen the DropZone and JC's Frogs on the NOTW website as well. Hope the hire went off without any problems showman. Back to the Mall this weekend?

good to hear from u skyliner c. drunken antics ant stranraer sounds good weekend lol, doing odd jobs round the farm now as its into quiet time off the year today weve started replacing electric fences and strainer posts keep the sheep at bay during the winter lol, tommorrow miss borderer is off to the maldives with her fellow farming WAGS for 14 days ( TALK ABOUT GLOBE TROTTING) so i will have to listen to her saying shall i take this or that or ooh didnt no i still had that tonight think i will call the lads and go to the pub best place i think lol, whats on this week for u showman hope all regs are doing good cheers borderer.
just back from a city break. was told about the NOTW headlines. just read it and had a good laugh!!! £30k I wish,I wish. a couple of do's like that would help the old mortgage out. I 've framed the article so that I can say I've made the headlines haha.
On a serious note though-just goes to show that you REALLY CANNOT BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU READ IN A NEWSPAPER!
It was miserable weather for most of the gig, but I hope the employees did manage enjoy themselves. I lost a large corporate customer two years ago because they had to make some lay offs and so cancelled their open day (shame for the other 100s of staff who were still employed) in fear of bad press!!! I only hope they read the articles comments on NOTW website and realise that the public are not against rewarding hard working employees.

here here showman when i read it i thought no way in hell are they getting 30k for it lol and newspapers do lie my late mother and father had a court case against one and they won cos press print Pxxh, are u open all next week at the mall showman ?, hows things up ur way anyways, hope all well cheers borderer

All quiet this end, a few maint jobs on the cards and not much else. Thats a fine looking renault borderer, always rem them as comfortable but expensive for parts! Blakey are you back driving yet? All the best to everyone.

HI everyone although not being able to comment much I have been reading the blog every day and first like to congratulate borderer on his new truck looks like it is going to come in very handy as well as saving you some money, hope you have had a descent year and the house is in ship shape.Can I ask if the pump got installed showman and bizz is doing ok. Under stand the NOTW was good and you had a good break.

HI Borderer, We have family in west Virginia so we pop over to see the kids now and again. Lost two days of the holiday in delays but I suppose that's the joy of travelling.Hope you have a good couple of weeks break but don't drink too much or the furrows will be all over the place lol. Nice pic of showman in the paper I honestly thought as they can't print every thing it might have been over looked which brings to mind have had a good season myself with pics been published and would like to have a look round Hull but have to much on at the moment, hope all the regs are doing well. hope the bizz is good for every one.

evening all, got some time out my busy work schedule to write on the blog, when i say busy i mean finishing of the seeding for next years crops and got the last few artic loads of morrisons potatoes away today prices 15 percent up on last year so all good , hows the mall doing showman, hows all regs doing blakey , jesters john skyliner c and ss . cheers borderer.
