a fairground life(brake test)

Just after 7am I left with the Miami en route for Melrose. A few miles out of the town there is a narrow S bend with double whites along it. As I was approaching I could see a cyclist ahead. I came up behind and prepared to overtake him. At that 2 cars and a bus came around the bend a few hundred yards ahead. I was up to speed but no way could I over take the cyclist without crossing the double whites and obstructing the on coming traffic. I braked hard and pulled in behind the cyclist. The brakes worked a charm this time. Good job, it would have been a different story last week. Well done "r".
Both rides in and set up for 2 pm. Good going as we stopped for breakfast and a couple of heavy showers. Wonder if we will get a dry Saturday for the Melrosian this year???

hopefully the weather will be good for melrose because if all the border common ridings get good weather everyone comes out in good spirit and enjoys the day and the border book festival is on in melrose all this week so you may get even more buisness as lots of people stay for the book festival and the melrosian celebrations. keep up the good blogs many thanks borderer.

Hi bit quiet at the moment so thought i better write something. Showman still out of internet range[he too far away to steal my connection] in deepest darkest border country. Did i ever mention that r bought a booster cause my router signal did'nt reach their end of the yard.Yes folks without me this blog would not exist.Sorry. Anyway i'm of to yorkshire tomorrow so wish me luck ,just dry weather will do.
There is one bit of news i would like to tell.Ive been dying to tell someone but my wife has already told most of the universe so thought i could tell showman's faithful reader's. My oldest son has just qualified to compete at the national special olympic's at leicester next year. He will be competing in the swimming.

Aye it has been quiet. lol, Yorkshires a good hike blakey, what you taking down? Must be a good earner to burn that much diesel! Galas this side have so far been good without too much trouble, police seem to be keeping a closer eye on the kids drinking.
Have a second hand vodaphone mast for sale if showmans interested, could bolt it to the unit and maybe pick up your router. lol,
Well done to your lad, thats great news, enjoy down south and hope you bring home plenty english notes!!

Used to have an old ford cargo. Was handy as had the tail lift on it, good runner but was getting on a bit, also a struggle sometimes to get into the smaller parks, it was sold on about 3 yr ago and replaced with 3.5t iveco lwb. Good machine and very happy with it. Takes 3.5t trailer away on steep hill without a prob. Plus the vans easier on the diesel. Gala on sat then back to the usual indoor haunt today. Glad of that as the weather aint been good. Not a bad day on sat but again the rain scared the punters away, hope all well for showman, blakey and borderer no doubt we will hear all when they are back from the twilight zone!

Hi blakey here. Yorkshire event ok but got rain in afternoon, but guess what showman. The welly boot brigade still came out,but not as many fair weather punter's. Went with toyset, hooplaand two side stalls. All on one load so fuel cost not too bad.Spent most of yesterday washing everything ready for this weekend.Need to get organised as out driving next two day's then off to scottish highlands on friday.New event for me so bit of an adventure.Think showman has broken his typing finger ,back in range of my router since sunday.Maybe we get all his woe's tonight.Ps run a volvo flc now, used to have cargo it nineteen year's old when we gave it to a friend who only did short run to local park.It still went like the clapper's but could'nt keep the cab on it due to rust.Still miss it on the hill's as it six cillander, volvo only four, but faster on the flat.Still get to most destination's about same time.
