a fairground life(life begins at 25, apparently)
So "r" passes his HGV at age of 21yrs. So why then was my insurance broker unable to add him to our policy to drive all of our lorries (7 counting my bro's)? Because he was not 25!!! My wife spent 5 hours on the phone today with four separate brokers and eventually spoke to the underwriters themselves. We had to cancel our existing policy after only using part of the term, move to another underwriter and re insure the vehicles, another £1600!!! Then they loaded one of the vehicles a further £300+ just because "r" was under 25. Lets be honest, age does not get you experience, so any new driver either 21 or 25 has no experience so the age has no effect. The LUNATICS are running the asylum again and insurance is a legalised CON, I mean if you insure something for £X why do they then depreciate it if you claim?? As for age when driving HGVs, how many boy racers have you seen driving 40ft artics?
As my father in laws said, and I agree, it is getting near time for a REVOLUTION. Many people would say it can't happen in a modern civilised country like ours, but as Blakey pointed out-the French were living in their modern civilised country when it happened to them.
Spread 300 lts of derv around the lorries today in readiness to move, that's what put me over the edge.

Have to agree on this, to insure my mate who was under 25 on my van for towing increased the price by £350. Two years later he is 25, costs me £20 to put him on list.
Rediculous add to that the fact if ever there was to be a claim they will do all they can not to pay out using the usual small print excuse, whenever you phone for insurance and mention fairground thats it, oh i cant cover that, or the phone is strangely cut off. Was at airth games today, a good day all round, showman whats the chances of a pitch at boa??
BOA should be packed this year as st andrews and the black isle fall the next week. we used to attend Airth games, the last time was 2000, I think.
hello all, insurance for any kind of vehicle is quite a laugh when you phone for quotes as every companys garbage is we can beat other companys and ends up sky high quote ,as showman says younger people lyk "r" pay heavily for insurance after they pass and when he will turn 25 it will be next to nothing, its not lyk some 21 year old is going to go 100mph along the m8 cruising just for a laugh with a 30-40 ton lorry. anyways showman could you help me out here there used to be an old chap attended hawick fair with his juvenille drop zone it was positioned next to b"s dodgems do you or b no who im on about??. cheers for all will be the big move today to boa. hope all well.
yes, I think he had the only juvenile dz in scotland? he is old "w b", he had the origional waltzer at hawick long before taylors and evans attended. his daughters were travelling the juveniles for a while, I don't think they are any more but I could be wrong, perhaps they only do 1 or 2 gaffs now.
ok suppose i have t say it,well done r.That was tough but i'll get over it.
I find internet sites money saving expert.com and confused.com a big help with car insurance.Bit time consuming puting in your details, but it saved me hundreds of pounds especialy with my daughters car.
You might find you get better mpg if you put your derv in the lorry tanks.Sounds like you a risk to the enviroment.I always thought you were just a wee bit sloppy when filling up.
